Does your once-loyal dog start nervously eyeing the door when you walk in the room? Does your kitty have not one more high five left in her? Have your goldfish started hiding behind their little castle? Did you walk in on your bird trying to open the window and get out of Dodge?

Lockdown has been hard on all of us, companion animals are no different. If you’re worried that they have stopped tolerating your games and mischief, you might be right. I don’t know how to break this to you gently, but your friends may be getting sick of your loafing, and they definitely may be done with the pressure of entertaining you.

Oh, all of the sudden they don’t have time for you? What with their busy schedule of licking their butts and coughing up hairballs? You only feed and shelter them…

Still, our animals do so much for us. Let’s give them a little break. If you’re still on lockdown and looking for a distraction to alleviate the boredom, it’s time to open your mind to the possibilities beyond your fickle companion animals for amusement.
