Plant-based diets have a bit of a reputation for being too expensive and, granted, they can be. Packaged vegan substitutes for meats and cheeses are not always affordable, but that doesn’t mean eating a plant-based diet has to mean increasing your grocery budget. Some of the world’s least affluent people are nearly plant-based by default. With commitment, organization and resourcefulness, you can seriously reduce your spending each week while maintaining a vegan diet.
