Bartenderly
Two Perfectly Balanced Vegan Vinegar Cocktails
Vinegar can make a drink wonderfully complex if you have the right recipe — luckily, you just found two, one alcoholic and one virgin
Want a cocktail veganized? Bought a bottle of something and don’t know what to do with it? Looking for a cool mocktail? Want to make your own liqueur? We’ll drink to that. Bartenderly is here to make all your vegan drinking dreams come true. If you want to check on whether a specific brand of alcohol is vegan, I recommend Barnivore.
Balance is the backbone of any well-made cocktail, and never more so than when you’re dousing it in vinegar — there’s a fine line between an elegant drink and a glass of salad dressing. This idea is nothing new — vinegar-based cordials, known as shrubs, have been consumed for centuries with or without spirits added. Back in January when I wrote about pantry cocktails, I certainly didn’t anticipate a global pandemic keeping most of us confined to our houses. Now that we’re well and truly in one, making drinks with ingredients from the store cupboard feels like a good idea again.
