Since Everyone Is Buying Up the Vegan ‘Meat,’ It Is Time to Make Our Own

Seitan, tofu and other packaged plant-based protein options are staples in my vegan kitchen, but recently I have found it increasingly difficult to find any of these items at the grocery store. When my grocery store ran out of tofu, making my own was an exciting experiment that yielded tasty results, despite the fact that I didn’t actually have the right tools to properly press the tofu.

After my success with troubleshooting the tofu-making process at home, I decided that making seitan should be my next venture into making my own plant-based protein.
