Shelter Pet Reviews #4
Betty, Spencer, Danny, Eclipse, Fitzgerald, and Tucker
“In an alternate universe, we’re taking riverfront runs and sharing a bottle of water. In the real world, Betty’s still waiting.”
This new round of pet reviews exclusively features dogs who are too hot and mostly didn’t feel like walking, because last week we experienced a late-summer heat wave in Portland with temperatures well into the 90’s. But that’s what the shady rose garden and covered runs are for, as well as the misting sprinkler that arcs across the blacktop to cool the pavement and any dog brave enough to go through it.
Hot tip: Late summer is a great time to get a dog. Adoptions slow down once kids go back to school, but shelters are still full of animals needing homes, and you still have some long-ish summer days left to spend with a new friend. If you like the looks of a dog you see here, check out the Pet Sommelier™ suggestions for similar pets in other parts of the country.
This week, we sample a powerful pittie mix, a surprisingly harmonious pair of lil guys, a perfectly smokey Pom, and more.
