Quarantined Couple Makes a Tiny Art Gallery for Their Gerbils

Complete with a tiny rodent Da Vinci, Klimt, and Vermeer, as well as an adorable screaming gerbil Munch

Pandoro and Tiramisù are two London gerbils with a newfound appreciation for fine art and, as of this week, one of the most impressive collections of tiny gerbil European masters in the world. This is all thanks to their benefactors, Filippo Lorenzin, an independent art curator who also works at London’s Victoria and Albert Museum, and his partner, the artist Marianna Benetti.

After two weeks of lockdown in London, Filippo and Marianna made use of the extra time in quarantine to give back to the small but passionate gerbil art community by creating a miniature gallery and stocking it with a number of magnificent pieces that would make any rodent with taste jealous.

According to an interview with the architects, this gallery has been something of a crash course in art appreciation for Pandoro and Tiramisú. Although they had not previously been exposed to the arts as much as some more refined rodents, they have proved quick studies, despite some…
