Like many Nintendo Switch enthusiasts, I recently got hella into the new Animal Crossing game, Animal Crossing: New Horizons. I was already excited about the March release for months, but there is truly no time like the present to be hanging out in a tranquil tropical world full of animals, creativity, and new friends. Thank you, Nintendo.

When I first started playing, I was really into trying to create custom designs pixel by pixel on the Switch, crafting weed leaf and polka dot paraphernalia before trying and failing to create signs and t-shirts saying “ANIMAL LIBERATION NOW” (I couldn’t quite fit “liberation” on there). On social media, I started to see people posting incredibly elaborate pixel designs that looked like a copy of a photo. I knew immediately what my island cabin had been missing: PICTURES OF MY DOGS.
