How I Had A Vegan Wedding That Everyone Loved (Especially Us)

This past spring, I was lucky enough to get married to my favorite person, Peter. Peter and I first met a decade ago in Austin, Texas, fell out of touch due to various inauspicious circumstances, and then kindled a long distance romance years later while I was living in New York City. A few months after we said “I love you” to one another on a park bench in Bed-Stuy, we bought our house together in Austin and adopted a senior dog named Jessie. Dear reader, I don’t necessarily recommend buying a home with someone you’ve been dating for a few months to you, but I have to say it worked out well for us. Just a few months after that, Peter proposed to me. We were on the second floor of a used bookstore in New Orleans, and the bookstore cat was a witness to my extremely enthusiastic “yes, please.”
