French fries are one of the foods that hold a special place in the hearts of vegans everywhere as this delicious and simple preparation of potatoes are usually made with vegan-friendly ingredients. From hunger-filled happy hours to fast food stops during road trips to an unfortunate situation where I ended up stranded at a steakhouse for a family dinner, french fries have always come through for me when I needed them the most.

These days, pretty much all of my meals are made at home and while I’m definitely not rushing to get back into a restaurant right now, I do actually miss ordering a basket of warm, salty french fries when there are no other vegan options in sight. So, why not recreate the experience at home?

Supplies

I found most of what I needed for this cooking project from Qideas Chicago, a local plant store in my area that also sells restaurant supplies. One thing that I could not find locally that I really wanted to get was some food baskets, so I ended up just getting some really cute red food baskets and gingham paper basket liners from Party City.
