A Lockdown Wedding for the Dogs

An Australian wedding photographer who has been out of work came up with an idea for lifting spirits: puppy love!

During Australia’s strict Covid-19 lockdown period, wedding photographer Jacinta Smith escaped to her parent’s farm in regional Victoria. It was a contrast to her regular life traveling up and down the Eastern coast of the country, running a thriving photography business, and spending more time on the road than in her cozy Melbourne apartment.

While Jac welcomed the change of pace, her creative brain needed to play. She missed the joy and sense of connection she felt at weddings, and wanted to stay active for however long she’d be out of work.

Life on the farm was quiet, but with a number of animal friends, Jac kept herself busy. There were sheep to cuddle, birds to watch, gardens to keep, and a litter of puppies born to Millie, one of the long term canine residents. An idea began to form.
