Who among us has never taken an online quiz to find out which Friend defines them and upon getting Monica retook the quiz until they got Phoebe? (People tell me this is a “Monica” thing to do, but I think we all know they’re just jealous I figured out how to beat their stupid test.) Friends has become such an institution that the announcement the show was leaving Netflix hit the Internet as if millions of voices suddenly cried out in terror and were suddenly silenced.

And so it is that we must find a way to say farewell to a show whose theme song PROMISED that it would always be there for us in the only appropriate way: By eating our feelings. And figuring out which of the numerous food-related episodes and inside jokes we should veganize first. This may seem easy to the casual viewer but once you really begin to dive into true Friends lore, it’s hard to know where to begin! Rachel’s Shepherd’s Trifle? Phoebe’s grandmother’s Cookies? Ross’s infamous Moistmaker Sandwich?
