16 Soothing Animal Videos to Watch When You’re Stressed
Getting overwhelmed? Take a deep breath, get a glass of water, and hit play.
For me, the best cure for feeling overwhelmed and anxious about, well, *gestures wildly around* everything, has been thinking about (non-human) happy animals even more than usual. My dogs are so pleased we’re home all the time, and lately I’ve been feeding them tiny dog-safe versions of all of our dinners. The birds on our daily walks seem louder and more emboldened than ever as they snack on berries and raise their babies. All over the country, sanctuaries and rescue organizations are working hard ensuring that the animals in their care have what they need. The animals don’t know about this panic, and their example of how to live —simply, with enthusiasm for food and scritches and water and grass, in touch with the land and each other — seems more urgent than ever.
If you’re like me, I recommend getting lost in the videos below — from a rescued squirrel sleeping to gentle belly rubs to cows listening to jazz.
